Plutonic Rainbows

Enrico Coniglio & Giulio Aldinucci - Stalking The Elusive

Powerful and emotionally overwhelming electronic atmospherics from this duo. Together they carve out huge swathes of monumental sound - as heard on Until the End of Remembrances where a vast church organ embraces the soundstage. This are big pieces and I urge you to check out this EP here.

Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol 4

New dark and brooding ambience from the fourth installment in this series. 'Xerrox Calypsoid 2' features some twinkling atmospherics that remind me of Eno's classic Shutov Assembly.

James Ferraro - Neurogeist

Beautiful new album from this New York artist. Like a digital wave of 80s fm synthesis washing over you. Evocative and haunting.

Summer Fragrances

This is a list of summer fragrances I currently like.

  • Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Cologne
  • Terre D’Hermès Eau Trés Fraîche
  • Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Forte
  • Haeckels Pegwell Bay
  • Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme

The Guerlain is one I still use in summer but only occasionally as its now discontinued and prices are getting higher.

Terre D’Hermès Eau Trés Fraîche is a nice rather one dimensional scent that smells of earthy oranges in a pleasant but simple way. It's not too expensive and is quite popular.

The same can be said for the Tom Ford. It's a rather lovely Neroli that performs better than the standard edition. What hampers this fragrance is that like the Hermès, it's rather linear and more importantly, the price is frankly ridiculous for a scent of this type.

Pegwell Bay is the relative newcomer but it's a bold, complex fragrance that is perfect for summer. It has both strength and longevity which is unusual for a scent of this type.

Chanel's Allure Sport Eau Extreme is a fantastic all-year round scent that is great even on cooler summer days.
